A full family life, all on one lot.

The Mansell Home sits on a Pepperwood lot with commanding views of the mountains, and the outdoor program was designed to make the most of both the site and the setting.

The family's lifestyle was the starting point when considering how family time would extend outside the home’s walls. A full tennis court and pool were part of the brief from early on, and we prioritized positioning them on the sloped site in a way that felt natural to the property.

The pool sits close to the house, connected to the interior through large windows that let the boundary between inside and out dissolve. Outdoor living spaces extend from the main floor, designed to function as a continuation of the home's social spaces when the weather allows.

Few homes have the space for a full tennis court, and having one steps from the pool means the family doesn't have to leave the property to train and play together. It's worth the space, because it’s the kind of amenity that shapes how a family spends time together.

Grade was a consistent factor across all of it. The site drops and shifts across the property, and organizing the pool, court, and living areas into something cohesive meant working carefully with the existing topography.

From the court to the pool to the living spaces that open up to all of it, the site was designed around how this family actually lives. From the hobbies, to the gatherings, and the desire for a home that could hold all of it, the outdoor program reflects that as much as anything inside the walls.
