Tucked away in a secluded corner of Spanish Fork Canyon, Howard Cabin strikes a balance between contemporary flair and rustic charm. Designed for a couple seeking solace from San Diego's hustle, the cabin provides a hub for family gatherings, a cozy setting for holidays, and a backdrop to slow down and appreciate the important moments in life.

Perched on a plot of land sloping down into the canyon, Howard Cabin veers away from the excess of typical Utah cabins, opting for a cozier, down-to-earth feel with a modern edge. Internally, Howard Cabin celebrates natural materials like wood, dark stone, and hints of concrete. It aims for a modern yet inviting ambiance, steering away from excessive opulence.

Initially a two-story structure, the cabin took a practical turn with the addition of a basement. The final design boasts a workout zone, a wine cellar, and a laid-back space for downtime—a thoughtful expansion that enriches the cabin's functionality.

A remarkable feature of Howard Cabin is the expansive windows on the east side. Step inside, and the landscape becomes an integral part of the living experience, framed by stone finishes and indoor vegetation.

The main floor serves as the heartbeat of the cabin. The welcoming foyer leads to the living room, a hosting kitchen, and a garage for convenience. Flowing seamlessly into the main kitchen and an indoor dining area, the space extends outdoors—an intentional design choice that encourages dining amidst nature. Two additional bedrooms, along with the master bathroom, complete the main floor, with carefully planned circulation that marks the private and communal spaces.

Ascending to the second floor reveals more living space, this time with an emphasis on more intimate and relaxed shared moments. Additional bedrooms and bathrooms on this level ensure the cabin accommodates both family and guests, maintaining a cozy ambiance during quieter times with the ability to scale up for larger gatherings.
