Davis Park Golf Driving Range Site Plan

Davis Park Golf Driving Range Site Plan
Before anything could be placed, we had to understand what was already in motion around it.
Davis Park Golf Course is at the foot of the Wasatch Front in Kaysville, where the foothills flatten toward the valley and the views stretch wide in every direction. Adding a driving range to an active golf course meant working carefully around what was already there.
The existing course was the first thing we studied. Understanding where balls travel across the adjacent holes told us where the range needed protection, and informed where fencing and buffers had to go before anything else could be placed.
The site itself slopes and shifts considerably across the roughly five acres, and grading was a constant consideration. Existing drainage infrastructure had to be accounted for and preserved in a way that wouldn't limit the range's ability to expand in the future if needed.
With those constraints mapped out, we could turn to the range layout itself: a covered pavilion, an open hitting area, and a separate training building, arranged to make the most of the site while keeping the experience of being there feeling open and uncluttered.
Parking runs along the front of the site, keeping arrival simple and the range itself uninterrupted. The pathway connecting the buildings to the hitting areas was planned to move people through the site naturally, without crossing or competing with the active range.
The orientation of the range puts the Wasatch mountains directly in front of every golfer on the tee. The view was one of the clearest assets the site had to offer, and the layout was organized around it.
