Infusing personality, energy, and shared values into a brand-new office suite.
At home in the brand new 650 S Main Tower in downtown Salt Lake City, the Crewe advisors space led us through explorations of flexibility and agility in design. The space is a combined home for three different branches of the company, with opportunities for separation, collaboration, and growth embedded in the design choices.
Working in a brand new building, designing a space that’s as beautiful as it is clever, and solving the individual problems that popped up along the way were all elements that needed to be carefully balanced as we moved towards finalizing our design.
The space houses three branches of Crewe; Crewe Capital, Crewe Advisors, and Crewe Foundation, all of which have their own needs and operations but share the core Crewe DNA. This meant we were designing for three clients in one. The spaces are all rooted in the Crewe identity, but different corners carry unique personalities and functions that respond to individual programmatic needs. In engineering a layout we not only considered present relationships, but also potential for expansion.
Murals and other art pieces infuse the space with personality, centered on Salt Lake City history, Crewe’s memorabilia, and the team’s shared love of sports. A collaborative nature and fighting spirit are on full display from the lobby to the executive offices, and fun elements, like the putting green and large break room, encourage camaraderie and play.
The finishes reflect the client’s branding and values, with variation in form to separate the branches while maintaining a consistent quality level for cohesion throughout. The space’s breathtaking views stretch east towards the Wasatch Mountains and north directly down Main Street, high-end vistas that called for complementary interiors adorned with rich materials and clean lines.
