Studio Crossing's second phase, creating a town square for gatherings and commerce.

Park City, Utah has simultaneously made a name for itself in cinema, outdoor sports, and luxury tourism, making it a wholly unique spot on the map. As the town grows and changes, and its historic center is consistently packed with tourists, there’s a rising need for more spaces for neighbors to gather, for events to be held and businesses to thrive.

Studio Crossing’s second phase is the heart of activity in the development: a suite of retail spaces at the core of the neighborhood. Connected to the rest of the development by a network of paths for biking and walking, guests to this retail center will experience an intersection of indoor and outdoor spaces, and a space that’s as much a town square as it is a shopping center.

The two buildings in this phase comprise over 30,000 square feet of sophisticated commercial space. These light-filled units are a blank canvas fit for a variety of businesses, whether upscale eateries, trendy retail outlets, or dynamic commercial enterprises.

The central plaza is designed to be multi-purpose, and contains a large water feature and different types of seating, both outdoor seating for restaurants and spaces for residents to have a chat with friends or do some people-watching. Open space in the plaza poses opportunities for special events and community gatherings, like a Christmas tree lighting or open-air markets.

The exterior design of the two mirrored buildings draws together inspiration from the vernacular architecture, the natural materials that are so characteristic of the city, and the other buildings that make up Studio Crossing. Red brick is the star here, a solid material to make up the essential form of the buildings, from where complementary materials elevate the rustic base to fit as a home for the most innovative and luxurious businesses.
