Mental health care looks different for everyone. Aspire was built to meet each person where they're at.

Aspire Counseling has spent more than a decade building something essential in the mental health space: a practice where all types of patients have a place to turn to, and clinicians at every stage of their career can find community, training, and a path forward. When they came to us to design their Draper office, the project felt like an extension of their mission.

The space spans just over 4,000 square feet on the first floor of an existing building. Seventeen therapy offices line a central corridor, each one private and self-contained. For a practice that serves adults, adolescents, and children, getting that sense of separation right was essential. Clients needed to feel like they had their own space, not that they were passing through someone else’s.

One of the rooms we were most deliberate about was the children’s therapy space. We furnished it to give young clients choices: a play kitchen, dress-up, a punching bag, and shelves full of toys. The goal was a room that really felt like theirs, where they could feel comfortable enough to play, communicate, and receive care.

The waiting room was its own kind of design puzzle. The people sitting in a counseling waiting room are often in the middle of something hard, so the space needed to hold that without amplifying it. We kept the palette quiet and grounded, added plants, and selected artwork that gave the eye somewhere calm to land.

That same thinking carried through the corridor. A large landscape painting anchors the hallway leading to the therapy offices, chosen by our team to bring something warm and unhurried into a space people move through quickly.

Aspire now offers the services of more than 100 clinicians across multiple locations along the Wasatch Front. The Draper office was designed to support that growth while staying true to what the practice has always been: a place where the wonderful work of healing can happen.
