Candice joined our team in the spring of 2021, seeking a change of pace after her many years of experience as a lead interior designer at ajc architects. She brings tenacity, nuance, and a strong portfolio of award-winning design work to the table, and is our secret weapon behind the seamless blend of aesthetics and function in many of our projects.
Candice was educated in Social and Behavioral Sciences before pursuing her degrees in Interior Design. She’s in tune with the subconscious ways users interact within the spaces they live, work, and play, and puts herself in place of the user, considering the significance of a lasting impression, the proclivities and safety of its end users, and the intrinsic function of a space throughout her entire process.
Raised in rural Northern California, Candice has a fondness for small business and is well acquainted with how fundamental the appeal of an establishment can be to its success. She attributes her appreciation of the outdoors to her small town upbringing, which motivates her to pull inspiration from local landscapes.
Candice’s love for nature extends into her free time, and she’s often hiking, camping, walking, and biking in the beautiful landscape surrounding Salt Lake City. She cherishes time at home as well, enjoying reading, knitting, board games, and baking cookies. She cultivates an atmosphere of warmth and comfort in her own life with the same level of thoughtfulness that she applies to creating spaces for clients.
With an exceptional skill for seeing the big picture, Candice applies a comprehensive approach to design, simultaneously considering interior, exterior, and localized site environments to inform color, texture and form. She doesn’t just look to make a space beautiful, although that’s something she does well, but rather focuses on finding the most innovative ways to maximize function, longevity, and beauty in any given project.
She always cites people when talking about her favorite parts of her work; whether it’s collaborators or clients, she likes to know who the people around her really are and what they do. She never disconnects a space from the people who use it, and finds that by working to understand each individual stakeholder she’s able to design a space that fully meets their needs, wants, and dreams.
